Rapid Detection method for Cold Agglutinin

Abstract

|
A new procedure for titration of cold agglutinins is analyzed. Cold agglutinin titers of 51 patient specimens were determined using the commonly used method and a procedure using Low Ionic Strength Solution. In only two cases, the titers obtained
with
the two assays were different by more than the acceptable. All other samples yielded yielded comparable results. No important differences between the two methods were found. The new procedure will provide a useful alternative to the traditional
assay.
